Appreciation – The Linden

We all wish to be appreciated for who we are.

For a long time, the Linden has been celebrated in songs and revered in myths and poetry.

Under its branches, young and old would gather, laughter and dancing filled the air, and weddings were celebrated.

Even today, it remains the center of many villages—a symbol of community, togetherness, and belonging.

Thus, the majestic linden invites us to lean against its sturdy trunk and to watch the gentle light filtering through its friendly green, heart-shaped leaves.

Its name refers to its soft, pliable wood, which was already considered sacred by the ancient Germanic peoples. In its “gentle” nature, it shows us what it feels like to be embraced by it.

In this way, it opens a gateway for us to view ourselves and others with kindness, to recognize the treasures each person carries within, and to feel gratitude for them.

It becomes easier to open our hearts to the needs of others, because it also does us good to show them that we appreciate them.
