Allgäu Healing Herb Candles
FAQ – Allgäu Healing Herb Candles
Where are the Allgäu Healing Herb Candles produced?
The candles are handcrafted in many small steps in a manufactory in the Allgäu Alps.
What makes Allgäu Healing Herb Candles special?
The concept of Allgäu Healing Herb Candles is based on incorporating carefully selected healing herbs into each candle, matched to different life themes.
This is done by blending plant extracts, tinctures, essences, resins, and pure natural oils.
What are Allgäu Healing Herb Candles made of?
The candles are made from 100% plant-based wax derived from a second-use process of European olive cultivation and produced in Italy.
They contain no animal ingredients, no paraffin, no palm oil, and no rapeseed or soy wax—making them one of the most ecological vegan candles on the market.
How do Allgäu Healing Herb Candles work?
Their effect is similar to a subtle form of incense.
Transformed through fire, the information and energetic vibration of the extracts, essential oils, essences, and tinctures are released and support our own mental intentions and spiritual focus.
Do Allgäu Healing Herb Candles drip?
Whether a candle drips depends mainly on the ratio between wick size and candle diameter.
If the wick is too large, too much wax is burned, a crater forms, the wick becomes too long, and the candle may soot heavily.
If the wick is too small, too little wax is burned, and excess liquid wax may overflow and cause dripping.
The Allgäu Healing Herb Candle is designed so that a very thin rim remains during burning in the form of a delicate mesh-like structure, while the candle does not drip—provided it is not exposed to drafts.
This mesh-like rim is intentional and a mark of quality.
All candles should always be used with a heat-resistant base.
How is the crystal structure of the candles formed?
The candles are fully colored using pigments. The crystalline structure is a natural effect of stearin during the cooling process, provided it is poured in the correct mold and at the appropriate temperature.
How long do the candles burn?
Burn time depends on various factors such as ambient temperature, drafts, and wax volume.
The candles are hand-poured and hand-cut, so height and weight may vary by up to 0.5 cm, but should not fall below 18 cm in height and 250 g in weight.
Typically, the candles are about 19 cm high and weigh around 285 g. Under optimal conditions—with 4-hour burning cycles and equal rest phases—a burn time of up to 50 hours can be achieved.
In practice, due to less ideal conditions, burn time is usually around ~40 hours.
Do Allgäu Healing Herb Candles have a scent?
The candles are not fragrance candles in the classical sense. Each candle contains essential oils that give it a subtle aroma, but the scent does not intensify significantly when burning.
In our experience, candles that develop their fragrance mainly after lighting can only be achieved using synthetic substances. The Healing Herb Candle is a pure natural product.
Why do some Allgäu Healing Herb Candles have small holes at the bottom?
During hardening, cavities may form, which are filled in a further production step by re-pouring.
After cutting, small indentations may remain at the lower edge. However, this has no effect on burn time, burning quality, or stability of the candle.
